Safflower Oil – Carthamus tinctorius
Safflower oil is also known as thistle oil and comes from the same family as sunflower oil. It is a light and readily absorbed oil making it particularly suitable for sensitive and compromised skin.
Caraway – Carum carvi
Caraway is considered to be specific for flatulent colic in babies and children. It has a carminative action on the digestive tract and helps cases where the tummy trouble is of nervous origin and loss of appetite/feeding. It is antimicrobial and can help with cases of mild diarrhea.
Cardamom – Elletaria cardomomum
Cardamom is an aromatic spice and acts a carminative and digestive aid. It helps with infant colic, griping pains, cramps and wind. It is warming and soothing to the digestive tract and gentle enough for use with babies and children.
Cassia Bark – Cinnamomum cassia
Cassia bark has an antispasmodic, carminative, antimicrobial. It helps with colic, flatulence, nausea and vomiting being warming and a digestive stimulant.
Chamomile – Matricaria recutita
Chamomile is an anti-inflammatory plant and helps to reduce puffiness and to strengthen tissues. It is a wonderful macerate to use in products for babies and children helping skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis.
Eucalyptus –Eucalyptus globulus
Eucalyptus leaves help to ease breathing and coughs. They are very helpful for juvenile asthma and any cold or flu type symptoms as they also have antiviral properties.
Lavender – Lavandula angustifolia
Lavender macerate is so very versatile. Beautifully relaxing and can aid sleep when rubbed into pulse points or added to a calming and decongestant night time bath or balm.
Limeflower – Tilia europaea
Limeflower nourishes the body and soothes the soul too. Limeflower macerate is cooling and relaxing and used externally has great benefits for tired, stressed and sensitive young skin.
Marigold – Calendula officinalis
This oil has great healing properties. It is deeply restoring for damaged skin and perfect barrier balm ingredient for nappy rash and sore bottoms.
Marshmallow – Althea officinalis
Marshmallow herb has a deeply soothing action on the skin and acts as a soft barrier for the skin. This makes it ideal to use on the delicate skin of new born babies and small children to help soothe nappy rash and redness.
Peppermint – Mentha piperita
Peppermint leaf is very effective in clearing catarrh with its antimicrobial, antiviral and antispasmodic actions. It works well for babies and children in cases of asthma, spasmodic cough, sinusitis and bronchitis.
Pine Needles – Pinus sylvestris
Pine needles have antiseptic and antiviral properties to help support the upper respiratory. It can help to relieve bronchitis, blocked sinuses, asthma, coughs catarrh and even sore throats.
Plantain – Plantago lanceolata
